The University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD) invites applications for a full-time clinical-track faculty position as a Dentist Anesthesiologist in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
Primary responsibilities include the delivery of general anesthesia and sedation for dental patients, participation in didactic and clinical education of dental students and residents through lectures and seminars, and involvement in departmental and institutional administrative activities.
In 2027, UMSOD will open a fully accredited ambulatory dental surgery center (ASC) featuring two operating rooms and three procedure rooms. The ASC will focus on comprehensive dental care for pediatric and special needs patients, as well as patients requiring oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures. Dentist anesthesiologists will play a central role in the ASC, providing direct patient care and contributing to anesthesia-related clinical and administrative operations.
Requirements
Qualifications Required:
DDS/DMD or equivalent degree
Completion of a CODA-accredited Dental Anesthesiology residency
Eligibility for regular or limited licensure to practice dentistry in the State of Maryland
Current board certification by the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology (ADBA), or board eligibility with attainment of diplomate status within five years of employment
