Position Overview
UVS is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Dentist / Oral Surgeon to help build and develop a new dentistry and oral surgery service. This is a unique opportunity to become the first on-site veterinary dentist in the Capital Region and play a key role in establishing and shaping a comprehensive dentistry and oral surgery department within a thriving specialty hospital. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to design and grow a state-of-the-art dentistry program, with direct input into equipment selection, facility design, workflow development, and the resources necessary to support a successful specialty service.
This role offers the ability to collaborate with hospital leadership, emergency and specialty clinicians, and support teams to create a customized dentistry service supported by advanced diagnostics, dedicated hospital resources, and a strong regional referral network.
Qualifications:
- Board certification in Veterinary Dentistry (DAVDC) or completion of an accredited dentistry residency program preferred
- Residency-trained veterinarians are encouraged to apply

State-of-the-Art Facilities
UVS operates from a custom-built, 45,000-square-foot facility designed to support advanced specialty medicine. Our facility includes:
- Multiple specialty consultation areas
- Advanced imaging suites
- Six Surgical suites
- Onsite full diagnostic laboratory
- In-house pharmacy
The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to help design and develop the dentistry and oral surgery spaces within our new hospital facility. This role offers direct input into facility layout, workflow, and equipment selection, allowing the candidate to build a customized, state-of-the-art dentistry service tailored to their vision and clinical needs.

- 64-slice CT scanner
- Fluoroscopy suite
- Digital radiography
- Multiple high-quality ultrasound systems
- Multi-parameter patient monitoring and telemetry
- Endoscopy suite
Additional equipment requests will be considered for candidates interested in expanding dentistry and oral surgery capabilities.
